Falling Into You (ver 3) by Mae This is my first tab. I'm not sure if this is how the artist plays it but to me, it sounds very similar. This song is easiest to play with your fingers rather than a pick and is great practice for finger-picking. I used to be awful at it and this song saved me. Any questions can be tweeted to me at twitter.com/vhe1ssu or e-mailed [email protected]. Picking will be in exact correspondence to the tab, except for maybe the end of the intro. Tuning: Standard - (Half step down or even a full step down sounds nice as well.) Capo: Not needed but still sounds good on the first/second fret. Find what YOU like. Symbols(basic): / = slide | h = hammer on | p = pull off | ~ = let that note ring -Intro- It sounds like the tempo slows down gradually as you move down the fret board. e|-----------------------------------------------------------------------0~-------------| Repeat B|-12-------12---10-------10---8-------8---7------7---3---------3------------3~---------| This G|-----0-------------0------------0-----------0----------0---------0------------0~------| Once D|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|-10----10------9-----9-------7----7------5----5-----3-----3~--------3~----------------| E|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| The end of your second time doing the intro is different> (Continuing from Intro) This is how I play the end of the intro but you can fool around with it if you don't like this sound in particular! e|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|-------7---3--------3-----1~-----/3~--|--/5------------------------------------------------| G|---0----------0--------0-------------------------------------------------------------------| D-----------------------------------------(slide but don't strum here)-----------------------| A|-----5-----3-----3--------3~-----/5~--|--/7------------------------------------------------| E|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Now for the fun part. This entire part is done twice, but not exactly. This first tab may be played a different amount of times in the second half of the song. I highly encourage listening to the song to know how many times you play it. You'll understand exactly what I mean when you listen. The song is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ryvemelOBw ((1)) e|---------------------------------0h2--------2h3--------3p2-----------------------------------| B|-----------------------0h3----3-------3----------3----------3---------3---3p0----------------| G|---0h2----2--2h4----4--------------------0----------0----------0----------------2p0----------| D|------------------------------------------------------------------0--------------------------| A|--------------------------------------------3------------------------------------------------| E|---3----3----3----3----3----3----3-----------------------------------------------------------| This is done twice but again, just listen to the song because the second half is a little different and listening to that is easier for the both of us to know how many times the guitarist does these parts. ((2)) Note: Where you see 2~p0 let that note ring for a second and pull off just so you can hear that little transition. That open note after the pull off only last for maybe a quarter of a second. It's a very quick touch to the sound. e|----------------------------------5---5p3-----2h3p2-----------------------| B|----------------------------3--------------3---------3-----3--3p0---------| G|--------0-------2~p0---2/4-----4------------------------2----------2p0----| D|---0h2-----2/4------------------------------------------0-----------------| A|--------------------------------------3-----------------------------------| E|---0----------------------------------------------------------------------| After that go back to tab ((1)) ((3)) e|------------------------------------------------------------0-------------| B|------------0---------3-----------0~----0-----0h3--------3~---------------| G|---------0---------------4--------0~-------0------------------2~---2---0--| D|------2------------0-----------0----------------------2-------0~---0------| A|----------------------------------------------3----3----------------------| E|---0------------2-----------3---------------------------------------------| The next part is basically the same thing, after ((4)) you will repeat ((3)). ((4)) e|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|------------0---------3------------0~---0-----0h3--------3~-----------------3------------| G|----------0--------------4---------0~------0-----------------0--------0--------0---------| D|-------2-----------0------------0---------------------2------------4-----4--------4------| A|----------------------------------------------3----3------------5--------------------5---| E|---0------------2------------3-----------------------------------------------------------| ((5)) Note: For the tabs that have a '*' next to them, listen to the song and notice that the guitarist keeps strumming back and forth between those notes. Listen to the song and do that for every part with that type of chord. e|------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|------1----------3----------5------5*---------7----------8-------8*-----| G|---------0----------0--------------0*------------0---------------0*-----| D|-0h2--------2/4--------4/5---------5*----5/7--------7/9----------9*-----| A|--------------------------------3*---------------------------7*---------| E|------------------------------------------------------------------------| e|----------------------------------------------------------| B|-----------8*----------10---------12--------12*-----------| G|-----------0*-------------------------------0 *-----------| D|-----------9*----9/10------10/12------------12*-----------| A|-------7*------------------------------10*----------------| E|----------------------------------------------------------| ((6)) The guitarist jumps to this part pretty quickly after the end of tab ((5)) but it's easy to transition to the right fret because the first notes are open. Take advantage of that. e|-------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---0h1p0--1p0------0~-----0~-------3----------1--------0~-----0~---------| G|-------------------0~-----0~----------0----------0-----0~-----0~---------| D|---0h2p0--2p0-----------------2/4--------4/2-----------------------------| A|-------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|----------------3------3----------------------------3------3-------------| You essentially know the entire song once you've finished tab ((6)), I'm gonna throw in those little tabs that are a bit different next, but above is the first half of the song. ((7)) So one of the differences in the second half is on tab ((2)) and I think this part only occurs one time at the very first part but again, just listen to the song. (difference) e|----------------------------------5---5p3-----2h3p2-------|----------------| B|----------------------------3--------------3---------3----|-3--3h5---------| G|--------0-------2~p0---2/4-----4------------------------2-|---------2p0----| D|---0h2-----2/4------------------------------------------0-|----------------| A|--------------------------------------3-------------------|----------------| E|---0------------------------------------------------------|----------------| ((8)) The last minor change in the second half is at the very end of the song, when you repeat tab ((6)). You will continue the end of tab ((6)) a few more times and do this. e|-----------------------------------------------------| B|-------0~-----0~-----------3----------1~------0~-----| G|-------0~-----0~--------------0---------------0~-----| D|--------------------0h2/4--------4/2----------0~-----| A|----------------------------------------------x------| E|----3------3----------------------------------3~-----| And there you have it! This song is what made me the finger-picking guitarist I am today so if you're having struggles keep trying! Again questions can be asked from the information I gave you at the top. It would also make my day if this tab made yours so let me know! Have fun! :D -Fez
